NCJW - Charleston Section began our New Year, Sunday afternoon, September 13, 2009 at Synagogue Emanu -El for new members, renewal of  memberships and at the same time a reception honoring and recognizing Senator Glenn McConnell, President Pro Tempore of the South Carolina Senate and Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, as a supporter of our campaign against domestic violence.  It was a pleasure to present him with our first Social Justice Award. 

The Keynote Speaker at the event was Mrs. Sammie Moshenberg, National Council of Jewish Women's Director of Washington Operations.
